Obituary
Dr. Charles Lawrence Robinson [1818-1894 age 76] was the first governor of the state of Kansas [1861-1863], elected to the Kansas State Senate [1873-1881], a Kansas abolitionist, a physician, and a native of Massachusetts. Dr. Robinson served as president of the Kansas Historical Society [1879-1880]. Later he became a Superintendent of the Haskell Institute [1887-1889] and Regent of the University of Kansas for twelve years.
