Source: The Emporia Gazette, 2/7/1947 Roland E Boynton, former Emporia lawyer and attorney general of Kansas, died Friday after a heart attack in Bartlesville, Okla. Boynton was county attorney in Lyon county for two terms and was a law partner of the late W.S. Kretsinger before being appointed as an assistant attorney general in 1926. Four articles of impeachment were filed against Boynton, who was charges in two of them with conspiracy to defraud and with negligence of the state's interests. He was acquitted by the state senate in a trial lasting 13 days.
